Let’s party like they do down in New Orleans!
“Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler!”

** — The pictures of our amazing Bastille Day Soiree are here! — **

On Saturday July 15, the Maison Française of the Embassy of France will welcome Washingtonians to Bastille Day 2017 with a spicy gumbo of irresistible dance music and, as always, an exceptional selection of food prepared by the best local Chefs.

Let’s celebrate together the exceptional bond between our two countries, and remember that the entry of the United States in WW1 commemorated this year, also brought a new type of sound, a new type of music to France. Since New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz and holds the title of the most francophone of the US cities, we will highlight this amazing city on the eve of its 300th birthday!
The evening will be spiced up with amazing auctions (both online and silent) and the traditional Tombola … offering many exciting excursions to New-Orleans, Paris, NY city, Washington and more.
Discover Bastille Day Online Auction.
New Orleans Fun and Food would not be complete without an amazing musical program provided by a New Orleans’ premier band: Don Vappie and his creole jazz quintet … followed by a DJ to make everyone dance the night away!.

The world renowned jazz musician Don Vappie will lead his Creole Jazz Quintet for a unique New Orleans Fun and Food Bastille Day Celebration.

Don Vappie is a world renowned jazz musician and presenter from New Orleans. He leads the Creole Jazz Band, a classic New Orleans jazz orchestra.
Known for his virtuosic banjo skills, Don is a stellar bassist, guitarist and vocalist. Add to that his commitment to the cultural creole music of New Orleans he calls “creole jazz”.
He has produced and recorded numerous CDs and film sound tracks and is star of the PBS documentary “American Creole: New Orleans Reunion”
