The Tour de France and more
The Tour de France is under way! It is scheduled to last until September 20th.
It has been descirbed as “the world’s most prestigious and most difficult bicycle race…that attracts the world’s best riders” by the Encyclopedia Britannica.
Whether you are along the route or watching it on television, the arduousness of the race may cause you to binge every day for several weeks!
But this is not all there is about the Tour - it is also a great way to discover regions of France and the Tour’s official site gives a wealth of information about the important tourist spots along the way.
To celebrate the Tour, Chef Matt Cockrell of Brasserie Liberté has created special dishes from the Lyon, Toulouse, and Nice regions such as Coq Au Vin, Toulouse Sausage and Les Petits Farcis.

The 107th Tour de France had been postponed for two months due to the pandemic and many precautions are being taken and will be enforced as cancelling the Tour would have been unimaginable! Yet, if one of the cyclist tests positive for the virus, the Tour will be immediately cancelled and the leader on that day will become the winner of the Tour...so this makes each day count as it could be the last one!

You can find information on where and how to watch the Tour on VeloNews.
