A Tale of Two Cathedrals / Le Conte de Deux Cathédrales

The Arlington Sister City Association (ASCA) and the Arlington-Reims Sister Committee are proud to present “A Tale of Two Cathedrals” on February 11th at 11:00 AM (EST) and 5:00 pm (CET) on Zoom. Andy Bittner, tour guide and author of Building Washington National Cathedral will share his knowledge of this American landmark. Dr. Patrick Demouy, professor emeritus of the History of the Middle Ages at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne and author of The Cathedral of Reims, will discuss this UNESCO world heritage site. Dr. Joan Grimbert, a professor emerita specializing in French and Medieval Studies at The Catholic University of America, will then offer some concluding thoughts on the importance of cathedrals during the Middle Ages. There will also be time for Q&A at the end of the formal presentations.

Andy Bittner, auteur de « Building Washington National Cathedral » et guide partagera ses connaissances sur ce monument américain.

Le Dr. Patrick Demouy, professeur émérite d’histoire du Moyen Âge à l’Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne et auteur de « La Cathédrale de Reims », évoquera ce site classé au patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO.

Joan Grimbert, professeure émérite spécialisée dans la langue française et l’histoire médiévale à l’Université Catholique Américaine, offrira ensuite quelques réflexions sur l’importance des cathédrales au Moyen Âge. Il y aura également du temps pour les questions et réponses à la fin des présentations formelles.
