Myths & Realities of the American Revolution - France’s true role in the American Revolution

Thursday 9 July 2020 from 17:30 to 19:00

This will be the first in a series of webinar presentations to discuss France’s role in the American Revolution.

Myth No. 1: The Battle of Saratoga was the “Turning Point” of the American Revolution because it brought France into the war to help the Americans with Benjamin Franklin’s persuasion.

Saratoga was NOT “THE Turning Point” of the American Revolution.
Winning the battle of Saratoga was NOT the “trigger” for Americans to obtain French Aid.
Ben Franklin was NOT the first American to develop a relationship with France.
The American DID NOT begin to win major battles after the “Turning Point” of Saratoga.
Randy Flood, a historian specializing in American Revolution history through educational programs and public speaking engagements, will be our presenter. Randy is co-founder of the “The Real American Revolution” and the “American Revolution Consortium for Civic Education”.
